Year 8 Mission to Mars enrichment day

All the D&T teachers were so impressed with the enthusiasm and skill that year 8 displayed on enrichment day last week. The challenge of designing and making a model ‘mars rover’ vehicle was full of many opportunities to be creative, solve problems and gain new knowledge.

Teamwork was a vital key to success as the students had to organise themselves to cover all the tasks. This ranged from research on the current mars rover ‘Perseverance’ to constructing the vehicle from a pack of resources.
There were many successful outcomes from the day and hopefully some new found interests in engineering and space exploration.
