This year in design and technology Year 8 have started a new project on ‘Animal Organisers’. The project requires students to choose a client and research existing organisers such as desk organisers and then create a product that meets the client’s wants and needs. This is to help prepare them for GCSE design and technology should they choose it in their options.
The new project has allowed students to practise their modelling skills using cardboard to develop their designs. They have also advanced their skills in computer aided design by using the laser cutter to create their final product.
Students have enjoyed the new project and are keen to take home their new products to show to their clients.
