Year 11 students get a taste of the...

This week we launched our new model of face to face and live lessons. The new timings of the school day were also implemented. The rationale behind the new model was in response to feedback from students, parents and staff with some of the key factors being reducing screen time for all and having appropriate staffing levels in response to the numbers of students attending school in each year group.

Year 7 – 10 vulnerable and critical worker children are following their usual timetable with their teachers in the classroom whilst the teachers simultaneously deliver live lessons to those at home.
Year 12 and 13 eligible students who cannot study from home are using their own year group silent study room and accessing live lessons from there.
One of our most exciting treats for our eligible Year 11 students is that for this week and next, they are being given a real Sixth Form experience. The Year 11 students are now accessing live lessons from our outstanding Sixth Form Study Centre, fully resourced with the IT facilities they need and some personal outdoor spaces just for them. Several students commented on how smart the Sixth Form area is, what a nice atmosphere there was and that they felt special to have had this privilege in an area they would never otherwise get to see or step in to.
During this week, all of our Year 11 students having been having their Sixth Form interviews and for those studying at home, rest assured we will think innovatively in order to try and give you a sixth form experience once all Year groups are back in school and we can provide the experience without compromising safety.
Well done to all of our students, working both in school and at home and of course all of our parents and carers who are doing so much to support our students get through these times as positively as possible.
