Textiles triumphs!

This term has kicked off fantastically in textiles, with so many students already showcasing their creative flair and skills through their practical work!

My new Year 10 group have been working hard, learning about various construction methods and have created their own personalised BMS Textiles tote bags to carry their folders in. We are soon going to be getting stuck into more meaty projects, like making a quilted toiletry bag, made with fabric that they will design and print themselves and incorporating more tricky skills like sewing in a zip, followed by a sweatshirt or hoodie to learn more about sewing with more challenging stretchy fabrics.

The year 9’s have completed their first round of taster projects and have produced some beautiful bow ties, also incorporating their own fabric prints that they have created using Photoshop!
