Year 12 Parents’ Information Evening
It was great to see so many parents and carers attend this week’s Year 12 Parents’ Information Evening, engaging with the important subject information talks across the school, finding out about all the exciting courses their children have chosen to study in our post 16 centre of excellence here within the Sixth Form at Bushey Meads School.
The evening began in the Main Hall with a keynote presentation by Associate Leader and Head of Sixth Form Mr O’Kelly and Deputy Head of Sixth Form Mr Monks which covered important topics such as attendance, independent study, work experience opportunities and the unique Extended Project Qualification taken by the vast majority of our Sixth Form students.
This was followed by the chance to visit informative subject talks and the outstanding Sixth Form Study Centre with it’s large quiet work space, two silent study rooms, access to chromebooks and the Sixth Form Cafe. Visitors were even able to sample some of the high quality food on offer to our students on a daily basis. The students and parents I spoke to found the evening very useful and a good stepping stone towards bright futures ahead for the next two years and beyond.
Exciting times!
