The Power of Incremental Improvement
It was an extremely positive start to the week this week being able to join the Sixth Form Assembly in the Main Hall and be reminded about the importance of Innovation – not only in society as a whole and the impact it has had in developing our world, but also in our lives as we make those importance personal adjustments to ensure that today is a better day than yesterday and tomorrow has a brighter future than today.
Associate Leader and Head of Sixth Form Mr O’Kelly led the inspiring assemblies and talked about the psychology and science behind incremental improvements and the exponential effect that they can have on learning and personal development and achievement. ‘Marginal Gains’ was a concept made famous by David Brailsford who took the Olympic Cycling Team from winning just two gold medals in the last 100 years to over 80 in more recent times.
All our hard working Sixth Formers were able to reflect on the assembly and consider what innovations they need to make to ensure that their time in our outstanding Sixth Form here at BMS is as successful as it can be.
I would like to wish them all the very best as they continue their studies across an electric range of subjects offered across our Post 16 provision and work towards outstanding results at the end of this year and next,  moving on to exciting futures beyond Bushey Meads.
