On Tuesday of this week Deputy Headteacher – Mrs Ash, Advanced Skills Leader and Head of Faculty, Maths – Mr Varsani and Head of Faculty, English – Ms Court presented a powerful Breakout Session entitled ‘The Last 50 Days – Maximising Achievement for All.’

Mrs Ash Speaking on Stage

During their session, which was part of a national conference programme and attended by over 600 delegates from schools across the United Kingdom, they outlined and showcased all the amazing strategies they and their teams have put in place at Bushey Meads School to support student achievement – particularly for those students in those crucial examination year groups of Year 11 and 13.

The session lasted 45 minutes and was repeated in the afternoon; it was packed full of lots of practical ideas, proven to support success and many delegates were inspired by what they heard, all going away with loads of ideas to implement in their own schools. I personally was immensely proud of them and all the work that their wider teams are doing to improve student achievement even further.

One feedback comment that was provided by one of the delegates summed up the atmosphere and appreciation for their willingness to share:

“The team from Bushey Meads School were particularly good – lots of great ideas that we will put into practice here.”

Later in the conference, as part of the main programme, in front of nearly 2000 delegates Deputy Headteacher – Mrs Ash presented about the school’s work this year to implement the Mind to Be Kind Culture at Bushey Meads. She explained to all the delegates the clear rationale, leadership strategy and implementation plan and also showcased some amazing things our students have done to demonstrate the impact of our new mantra and strengthening culture. There were loads of lovely pictures of Bushey Meads students up on the big screens around the conference centre; all in all the whole day certainly put Bushey Meads School on the national map!
