Word of the Week: A Term-endous Success!
Last term, our Word of the Week journey culminated in the December end-of-term quiz. Congratulations to the 15 groups who achieved 100%, with special recognition for our top scorers: 13 Maple, 8 Sycamore, and 9 Elm.
We will be exploring another set of word roots this term, and this week’s focus is on the root anim, meaning “spirit” or “soul.” You might recognize it in words like animate (to bring to life) or animosity (a strong feeling of hostility, often rooted in passion).
As we step into the new year, our spotlight word is equanimity, meaning “a feeling of balanced spirit.” It’s a wonderful word to embrace as we tackle challenges and opportunities with calm and composure.
Let’s keep expanding our vocabulary and uncovering the deeper meanings behind the words we use. Here’s to another great term of learning and growth!
