Culture and Diversity Day

On Wednesday we celebrated our second Culture and Diversity Day. Working on feedback from staff and students we developed a two hour enrichment session at the end of the day where students could choose from a diverse range of activities. There really was something to suit everyone from Manga drawing, coding, Zumba to French films, jewelry making and national sports. Students were in mixed age group activities giving them more opportunities to build relationships.

The morning was made up of three sessions learning about people’s culture and beliefs and helping to foster a sense of understanding and tolerance for others.
It was great to see students arriving this morning in their traditional cultural clothing and talking about their heritage and their beliefs.
In a multicultural and multi faith school we strive to work with students to help them build respectful relationships with their peers and staff.
A huge thank you to all of the staff at the school that put in so much effort to make these days as exciting and interactive as possible to enhance the cultural capital and wider learning experiences for the students at BMS.
