It was a privilege to join Year 9 students for their Main School Assembly earlier this week led by our hard working Pastoral Manager Mrs Blowers. Mrs Blowers reminded students of the myriad of daily opportunities that students have at Bushey Meads School and how they should work hard with enthusiasm to embrace them and make the most of them. She spoke about how the little things we do can add up to true greatness over time and that none of these ‘little things’ that we encourage them to do are wasted – some of them are very important life skills that will stand them in very good stead in future study and employment.
She also reminded students to make the right choices – which sometimes means choosing to walk away from their friends if they know they are doing something which is unkind and not right. This takes character, but is about taking the right ‘opportunity’. The assembly also provided the opportunity for students to watch a short video about the dangers of vaping – a temptation that is present in our society, but is definitely not a good thing to get involved with. It was good to be reminded about the serious health implications of vaping.
