Humanities Week Assemblies at BMS

It was superb to join one of the inspiring assemblies this week taking place in our Main Hall and hear Mr Burley, our Student Leadership Coordinator, encourage students and staff to consider what it means to be part of a community. He reflected on the huge benefits this brings, especially in learning and appreciating the value and strength of diversity.

He related the students’ experiences to being part of the BMS Community, with the strong values we hold of ‘Having a Mind to Be Kind’ and seeing how that is manifested in our ‘Keys to Success’ demonstrated in lessons across our school. The highlight of the assembly was when the Year 7 Student Leaders shared their unscripted views of what it means to be in community at BMS; what they have valued, even in the relatively short time period of just 4 months since joining our wonderful school. It was inspiring to hear.

The assembly and related Theme of the Week Activity have been one of many great activities arranged this week and a huge thank you goes to Mr Burley for making it so successful.
