Rewards and Consequence Points

Rewards and Consequence Points

In line with our Positive Behaviour for learning at Bushey Meads School, staff are encouraged to praise and reward students exhibiting the positive behaviours we desire and when needed, issue consequences to reduce undesired behaviour.  Students are therefore issued ‘reward points’ and ‘consequence’ points accordingly.

These are all logged on our computer system (parents and carers can see them using the Edulink App) allowing us to run reports to spot useful trends.  Our goal is to use a ratio of 10:1.  Ten reward points issued for every one consequence point.
Having run a whole school report for the Autumn Term (between September – December 2020), I am pleased to announce the following:
  • 67, 589 Reward Points were issued
  • 6188 Consequence Points were issued
This is an increase of 992% in favour of reward points, bettering our 10:1 ratio considerably.
Staff are still wanting to reward students this term, even if they are working from home.  Therefore, please continue to encourage your children to join the Live Lessons every day and complete all of the work set by their teachers.  This will lead to reward points being issued by teachers which I am sure will lead to you rewarding your child as parents and carers.
