Our week started with a superb Monday Magic Moment delivered by Head of Geography and teaching and learning lead in Humanities and Social Sciences Miss Dunsby focussing on supporting high quality A level essay planning with embedded peer and self assessment to drive up improvement.
Activities based around reading exemplar essays and analysing the content and structure against clear concise mark schemes were shared. In addition she showcased the use of assessment grids underpinning effective purple pen responses and the identification of clear next steps. Using her well crafted and proven strategies she shared that some students had shifted their A level grades up by at least 2 and even 3 grades per essay!
