With Y10 Pre Public Exams (PPEs) now underway it was a joy to see how seriously the Year 10 students have taken their exam preparation.

In different curriculum areas students have different knowledge and key skills they need to learn. This first round of PPEs is all about the student getting to know themselves – how organised they are for their revision and working out what revision strategies work best for them.
In this digital age there is a lot more variety in the ways students can revise from YouTube tutorials to online subscriptions that are bought in by the school. Some students prefer pen and paper, making flash cards, mind maps and going through past papers. All methods of revision are equally valid,
BBC Bitesize has been revamped in recent years to make it more student friendly and is a site I recommend to my students. It is important to know what exam board is being followed for each subject so they are revising the right content.
Moving into Year 11 all students will have a kickstart meeting on the 2nd September, please check your email if you have not already booked. Through the year there will be a number of meetings to support the students and parents in the run up to the GCSEs.
