Inspirational Mural and Learning in Design...
It was inspiring to walk into our newly revamped Design and Technology Faculty and be welcomed by the impactful and inspiring wall mural in the entrance to the faculty. Carefully designed by the staff, it certainly whets your appetite for some of the very exciting subjects on offer within the new-look faculty. There is still more to do to complete the work, but you can already see how the faculty area is being taken to the next level.
What was then even more impressive was to see then how engaged the students were in the newly revised projects on offer. Across a whole range of disciplines students were learning about real-life learning and design and considering how they could then apply that knowledge to design projects of their own. The images show our new Year 7 cohort in their lessons in D & T, but learning every day across all year groups in the school this week has mirrored the same engagement and focus, which has been impressive.
I look forward to seeing the results of all the students’ imaginative designs this term.
