Superb Strategies to Fast Feed Forward in...
It was great to hear from our Key Stage 3 Coordinator for Maths Miss Barker-Dunmil about how she provides her students with personalised feedback following the completion of home learning tasks.
Based on her assessment of the tasks completed, she carefully analyses areas for improvement and sets specific questions to move the individual’s learning on – bespoke to each student. This helps to create a personalised learning journey for the students she teaches and encourages them to practise and perfect those ‘challenging questions’.
To support this term’s focus on marking for literacy (built into our third marking and feedback fortnight of the year) she also makes sure she highlights the key words used in the lesson at the start of the lesson and has regular mini spelling tests to reinforce the spelling of these keywords, revisiting them at the end of the lessons in her plenaries.
Her sharing of best practice made for a very positive Friday Faculty Focus at the end of last week.
