Mrs Raymond, a Governor at the school, and I were delighted to have the opportunity to join 8Ash for their CDC time on Monday 1st March.
The session began with wishing Seth Freeman happy birthday as he had a weekend lockdown birthday. The word of the week was presented by Sharly Harris who began asking the class if they remembered what the word was last week, (solace), and if they had used the word. She then went through the new word – sublime.
What Mrs Raymond and I particularly enjoyed was the lovely atmosphere in the session and how everyone joined in – even us!
One activity that I particularly enjoyed was the question – ‘Things you find sublime’. I think most of use were thinking about places we wanted to be after lockdown. The answers were gathered on the JamBoard – take a look.
Mrs Raymond said about her experience of joining the group that:
“It was a pleasure to join Mr Burley and his Year 8 students, on Google Meets, for their CDC time this week. It was great to see the students enthusiastically using sticky notes on the jam board to make their contributions to the discussion. Thank you to Sharly for her presentation on ‘Sublime’, our Word of the Week.”
It was wonderful to welcome Year 10 Business Studies students into the classroom for some face to face teaching! Although seeing the students was a highlight, this occasion was...
