Monday 15th May marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week. As a school we are passionate about raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a positive mental health and ensuring our staff and students know how to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health. In school PHSE lessons and on enrichment days we dedicate sessions to talking about and understanding Mental Health . Year 10 recently had a session delivered by the Chamber of Conscience, a team of Mental Health Professionals that gave the students a real insight into the issues that surround poor mental health.
Our Theme of the week for next week is Mental Health. Students will be having assemblies and spending time in CDC time to discuss these issues. We also recognise the importance of peer support and we are offering 20 students the chance to become ‘Mental Health’ champions in the school. Students will be given information about what a Mental Health Champion is and how they can apply during assembly next week.
