Innovation – Harnessing the Power of...
With World Book Day taking place on Thursday and exciting innovative projects and activities planned for next week’s Science Week, the Theme of the Week Innovation was all the more pertinent to be reflecting on in our Main School Assemblies.
Assistant Headteacher Mrs Greenwood led the thought provoking assemblies and asked the students to reflect on the images on the big screen and consider how much innovation and creativity has helped to shape our world.
She reminded us that our most successful students really embrace the concept of innovation and incremental change in their own lives and in their approach to their learning and constantly make adjustments, learn and revise in many creative ways and constantly develop that thirst for knowledge and demonstrate strong and inquisitive character traits.
Mrs Greenwood encouraged us all to foster that all-important growth mindset attitude and reminded us that failure is part of learning and developing. This point was emphasised by her references to some very famous, iconic role models who never gave up and went on to be successful singers and songwriters, TV presenters and talk show hosts, inventors and acclaimed authors.
The assembly ended with a challenge for all students, reminding them that in the room were successful entrepreneurs, doctors, dentists, teachers, inventors, physicists, research scientists, designers…………and the list goes on. Our students, with the right mindset and attitude to learning, will go on to literally shape and change the world.
Inspiring!
