Despite the clear restrictions we are all adhering to in our very modified learning environment, it has been so good to welcome back students to each year group in our school for face to face lessons or supervised study with excellent support from our outstanding Learning Assistants and teachers. All students in school have had full access to high tech computers, our excellent Wi-Fi network and all the various online learning platforms and personalised work set on google classrooms.
Key Stage 3 ‘bubbles’ have been safely accommodated in L Block – our clean, spacious and inspiring science block. The students have worked hard all week and enjoyed the expansive playing fields beyond the block at break and lunchtime.
Year 10 students in their bubbles have been based in LRC1 and 3 and have really welcomed the now embedded routines that they have been following since June 1st. So many staff and their hard working Pastoral Manager Mrs Blowers have been so impressed with their outstanding attitudes to learning.
A select group of Year 11 students have been enjoying the quiet facilities provided by one of our Silent Study Rooms in our superb SIxth Form Centre, dressed for the occasion in their smart business dress.
Year 12 students have really engaged with their actual lessons and enjoyed extended 2 hour learning sessions with their talented teachers.
As a school community we have worked incredibly hard within the clear guidelines and restrictions in place to support students back into learning.
Whilst student numbers have been understandably limited, congratulations must go to all of the students for the way they have embraced this new normal and for their superb behaviour and attitudes to learning. As always the staff at the school have also demonstrated what can be achieved by working together and always putting our students first in all that we do.
As a reminder to all parents, should the need arise to contact parents in the event of a school closure due to heavy snow (or indeed any other reason), please be aware that a...
