As the vibrant energy of a new academic year fills the air, we are thrilled to share that our Year 7 students have had a great start at Bushey Meads. This week marked not just the beginning of a new educational journey, but an opportunity to forge lifelong friendships, cultivate new interests, and embrace the spirit of learning that is at the heart of our school community.
A Warm Welcome
The week kicked off with an enthusiastic welcome assembly, as our new year 7’s were introduced to the school’s vision, values, and expectations for the year ahead. Students were greeted with cheerful smiles and encouraging words, making it clear that Bushey Meads School is a nurturing environment where every student is valued and seen.
Exploring New Opportunities
Throughout the week, students engaged in a range of activities designed to help them acclimatise to their new school environment. From interactive team-building games to exploring various subject sessions, Year 7s had a chance to discover their interests and learn about the diverse curriculum available to them. Highlights included; presenting their GAP tasks, getting their new chromebooks, creative arts sessions, and physical education lessons that built on teamwork and cooperation.
The week wrapped up with the year 7’s first celebration assembly, which saw a huge number of students recognised and awarded for their good attitude, showing respect, responsibility and building good relationships.
Looking Ahead
As we start on the first full week of lessons, our students are already looking forward to what lies ahead. Exciting learning opportunities, after-school clubs, and enrichment events are just around the corner, ensuring Year 7s will have a fulfilling and enriching experience throughout the year. We encourage students to try out different activities, speak with their teachers about their interests, and get involved in the school community.
In closing, we are incredibly proud of our Year 7s for taking these first important steps with such responsibility and courage. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
