At Bushey Meads School we very carefully track all students’ achievement against predicted grades generated through a nationally renowned government sponsored data agency called Fisher Family Trust. If students fall behind on the journey to reaching their target grades, or the gap between their attainment and predictions widens, then there is a bridge to cross.
On that note, it was great to hear from Mr Knowles, Head of Performing and Visual Arts on Monday of this week in our Staff Briefing meeting and hear about the success of the Crossing the Bridge Programme that we run at Bushey Meads to support targeted students who need some additional mentoring to reach their target grades at KS3 and GCSE level.
All staff are behind the project which serves to encourage students on the programme to aim for consistently good Attitude to Learning (AtL) scores, good attendance to school (95%+), as well as improve their general confidence to taste success and then use this success as a motivating factor to achieve further success.
The statistics that Mr Knowles shared indicate that the programme has worked and this year we are intending to run it again and hopefully impact positively on the lives of even more students at BMS.
