STEM Experience for Year 8s on Enrichment Day
It was brilliant to see Year 8 students so engaged during our recent STEM-related enrichment day focussed on science, technology, engineering and maths. The sessions were very hands on and practical and related to real life industry – making batteries from oranges, creating strong structures using spaghetti and marshmallows, working out stadium capacity as real life architects designing for the football premier league and partcipating in online quizzes to test their general knowledge about space and the planets.
The students had the chance to meet visitors to the school from various STEM related industries who no doubt will have inspired many of them to get actively involved in our own STEM clubs and also consider exciting futures in this important field.
