On Friday night the music department took our GCSE class to see the London Philharmonic Orchestra play an evening of film music. We saw a wonderful programme of music featuring The Lord of the Rings by Howard Shore as well as Batman and Alice in Wonderland by Danny Elfman. Just to make the evening more special, we were lucky enough to see a world premiere of Danny Elfman’s latest piece, with the composer himself coming on to stage to take a bow at the end of the night. The students really enjoyed themselves and got to see a fantastic evening of music with some amazing musicians. We hope that this is the beginning of even more musical trips over the coming years.
