Holocaust Memorial Day
This week, Bushey Meads School marked and acknowledged Holocaust Memorial Day. The 27th January 2025, marks 80 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, the largest camp set up during the Nazi regime.
We acknowledged the day with a series of assemblies by the humanities department, and looked at the theme of ‘tolerance.’
Carrying our 3 R’s through our everyday school life ensures that we are always treating everyone with respect, acting with responsibility and building positive relationships.
We know how important all of these things are in maintaining a tolerant community, and in our assemblies we reflected on the words “The Holocaust did not begin in the gas chambers – it began with words.” All our students are reminded to follow our 3 R’s, and we always make sure the words we use are chosen with them in mind, to help keep our school a tolerant and friendly place to be!
