Cyber Security Taken Seriously at BMS
With the many and very high-profile cyber attacks being reported in the media we continue to take cyber security very seriously at Bushey Meads. A number of schools in Hertfordshire and across the country have been the victims of cyber attacks and this has resulted in immense inconvenience to the day to day operation of the organisations and potential major data breaches occurring.
At Bushey Meads all staff receive monthly online training modules which they are expected to complete. The modules are short and to the point usually focussed on a 3 minute video and associated test which has to be passed with an 80% score. This means that all staff are becoming much more aware of the potential vulnerabilities across our school and develop a heightened vigilance to any potential threat.
On Tuesday morning our IT Manager across the Trust Mr Booth provided an excellent presentation to remind all staff of the importance of staying safe online and in the workplace from a cyber security angle. Time was then given to colleagues to complete some of the excellent Boxphish Training modules to ensure that we are all up-to-date with our training.
