It has been very heartwarming to see groups of Year 11 working so hard so early in the term. They have had a lot to deal with and the work ethic and attitude to learning of many should serve as a real inspiration to others.
In my Going 4 Greatness lessons, it has been lovely to see the students independently ‘crack on’ with their work. Many students are utilising the time to begin the revision process. A few of the students in my class use part of the lesson to draw up their revision schedule for the coming week.
During breaks and lunches, core groups of Year 11 are making great use of their inside zones (F4 and F5) and completing lots of work and revision. As the weather deteriorates, I imagine even greater use of these rooms will take place.
Finally, at the end of a day last week I was walking back down to my office and came across some lovely Year 11s making great use of one of our outdoor canopied areas revising for their GCSEs. It was a heart warming picture and I let the students know how proud of them I was.
All of these things remind us why it is so good to be back to school and despite all the challenges and new norms, the show really must still go on, for both teaching and learning.
Wishing all the best to our Year 11s for the rest of this term,
It has been incredible to see how effectively our IT team has been overseeing and managing the roll out of the laptops for schools initiative to enable those students, who are...
