Responsible Use of AI
Head of Media Mr Cox led the Monday Magic Moment at the start of the week in our Staff Briefing meeting in the Main Hall and provided some great examples of how AI can be positively used in learning – describing the approach as using AI to be a ‘Learning Partner’.
He encouraged colleagues to provide clear parameters for its use in class and for home learning, but also suggested that we should not shy away from using it – perhaps instead modelling how it could be effectively used to enhance learning and progress.
AI is definitely here to stay and will undoubtedly become part of all students’ future learning and workplace experiences so we should do all we can to embrace its use both in and out of school, but making sure we challenge each other to use it in the right way. To this end he also provided some tried and tested methods to spot how it is used to ensure that any future pupil assessments are genuine and are effectively measuring pupil progress and helping students continue to succeed.
