Alex the Expert Student Marker

As our only Year 13 Dance student, Alex loves to bounce ideas of other dancers and assist them in any way he can. Whilst maintaining a safe distance, Alex attends Year 12 Dance theory lessons for extra revision and to offer help as they other students begin they’re A level journey. After receiving his PPE feedback, Alex led a session where he shared helpful tips on how to create a top grade 25 mark essay. He said this experience reminded him of all the key features he needs to include in his theory work, which can often be forgotten when in exam conditions.

As well as offering help to Year 12 dancers, Alex also dropped into a Year 11 theory session to share his essay tips with them. His main tip for Year 11 was, “make sure you always refer back to the question in every sentence you write. Try to avoid ‘waffle’ and tangents as that can affect your mark.” This experience has been very successful for both Year 11 and 12 to hear advice from a peer. Sophie and Aryan mentioned that it’s great to hear from someone who completed GCSE Dance recently and who is currently completing A level, which is a subject they both hope to take next year. Becoming an expert student marker is a fantastic way to improve your own essay writing ability and has helped Alex secure an impressive grade for his November PPE.
