A Fond Farewell to the Sixth Form Leavers

Last Friday saw the Sixth Form Leavers Assembly, the final act on the last official day of schooling at Bushey Meads School for our Year 13’s. Having all now completed all their examinations, that they have been working so hard for, the students have been able to let their ‘hair down’ at both the Year 13 Prom held at Hunton Park Hotel on Friday 23rd June and at the Leaver Assembly held last Friday morning in the Sixth Form Centre.

Hearing from all the Character Development Coaches, with fond wishes for the future and reminiscing on some of the more memorable days, it was lovely to see the students respond so well to the hartfelt words offered. Having the chance to collect the Yearbooks that have been designed fully by our Year 13’s, it was great to see so much excitement and no small amount of laughter at the awfully embarrassing pictures from Year 7!
With some advice provided to students by myself, with a presentation titled ‘Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold’, students got to hear some suggestions for life skills that probably would not be covered in their Sixth Form curriculum!.
All the Sixth Form Team would like to wish all our Year 13’s the very best for their next steps and we look forward to welcoming them back into school for ‘A’ Level Results Day in August and in later years as part of our ever expanding Alumni program.
