Sixth Form Enrolment
Last week was an exciting time for the enrolment of students for Sixth Form in 2020. We have had record levels of interest in our ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form with incredible numbers of students applying, having their interviews and then receiving offers.
With the current uncertainties within Year 11 studies and the general unease many students are feeling about their examinations, grades and their next steps, I took the step of writing to all our students who had previously received an offer. In particular, I was looking to allay the concerns students and their families had regarding enrolment and confirmation of a spot with us here at Bushey Meads Sixth Form.
Therefore, in a big break from our traditional approach to enrolment, the Sixth Form Team have written to all our previous recipients of an offer to study at Bushey Meads and converted this into enrolment. Meaning that these students will now all be studying their chosen subjects with us here at Bushey Meads Sixth Form.
I strongly believe that Bushey Meads will be, as it has been previously, heavily oversubscribed and students having this opportunity to enrol in an outstanding Sixth Form at this early stage is being snapped up. I will reopen the enrolment process once GCSE grades have been released. This will act as an opportunity for those who have not previously interviewed to enrol at Bushey Meads and join us as part of the wider Sixth Form family.
I look forward to welcoming the new students into Year 12 next academic year.
