It has been an exciting and rewarding half term for the Year 7 MFL pupils. The cognitive, cultural and academic benefits of learning a new language are profound. Year 7 is an ideal time to start building a foundation for lifelong language learning. Pupils have been learning topics such as how to say their name, their age, their nationality and when their birthday is. Learning a new foreign language goes beyond learning vocabulary and grammar. It also opens a window to different cultures and perspectives which fosters empathy, respect for diversity and an understanding of different worldviews. The Year 7 pupils have been engaged in various dynamic lessons, incorporating technology, interactive activities, music and games. In lessons, we encourage curiosity and offer a supportive environment which are key elements in making language learning a rewarding experience for our young learners. Well done Year 7!
