Student Voice Shapes our School

Student Voice Shapes our School
Through the excellent work of the CDC Reps, the Student Parliament and the Senior Student Leaders at BMS, students’ voices continue to have a prominent place in helping to shape the future of our great school.
One of the key developments and improvements that students this year have asked for is for the well-used and much appreciated Astro Turf to be improved. Students know that this space is central to all PE lessons and extra curricular activities and is used every single lunchtime by many hundreds of students each and every week.
It has taken a little while to gather the three quotes required through our standard tendering process, but we are delighted that the work has now started. At a cost of over £100 000 it is a very significant investment in the school but does show our students that we are committed to supporting them in making our school one of the very best in the area.
I would encourage all students to keep thinking about other good ideas to improve the school as we do listen – even if it takes a little time to make it happen. The new surface should be ready before the end of term so students will be able to use it before we go on the summer holidays.
Exciting times!
