Student Voice – loud and clear
At the last Full Governing Body meeting of the year held last Wednesday, it was great to welcome three of our senior student leaders to speak to the Governors and answer questions about the academic year that is coming to a close. They explained to the Governors how the Student Leadership Team across the school had been expanded this year and shared with the Governors about the positive impact the leaders have had around the school site – being role models for the younger students and supporting the safe and calm ethos culture around the school at break and lunchtimes.
The Student Leaders also shared information about some of the highlights from the important Student Parliament meetings that have taken place throughout the year. At one recent meeting the students had the chance to meet with the managers of Innovate (the catering company who provide all the food across the school site), sampled some food options and gave their opinions about how the service could be further improved. It was a key meeting that has helped shape this important agenda moving forward.
Our student leaders do play a really important part in the life of the school and their voice is loud and clear – even at the highest level of Governance across the school.
