Year 12 Childcare Students engage in active...

It was a pleasure to meet my new year 12 class, which includes three students who have just joined BMS, for the first time on Monday this week.

As part of one of our first lessons, we investigated factors that can affect a child’s very early development, including their prenatal development. To do this, they scanned QR codes to access websites for research, and using that information, they completed spider diagrams on the tables, explaining how each of the factors affect early child development. After a few minutes, they moved on to another factor and circulated the room. At the end of the lesson, they took photos of the group research and will use this as a basis for their own presentations on these factors.

It was excellent to observe how well the students engaged with the activity and the content, approaching their research in an active and kinaesthetic manner.
