Our first fiction D.E.A.R event took place Monday 7th December with both students and staff engaging in 20 minutes of reading. This designated reading session reminds us all of the importance of putting aside distractions and finding time for ourselves with a good book.

The firm underpinning of our school R for respect should afterall apply to ourselves and not just how we approach others in our daily lives. Research into the benefits of just 10 minutes reading a day highlights how important our embedding of a culture for reading is.

Reading benefits adults and children alike, from relieving stress and improving empathy to having a positive impact on school attainment.
