Oracy is Important!
We all know that the ability to communicate confidently is hugely important in life. Communication with others is at the heart of relationships, debate, understanding and tolerance.
With that in mind it was great to be reminded by English teacher Mx Freeman in our Friday Faculty Focus last week about what we can all do to encourage the development of oracy in our lessons across all subjects in the school.
Students at BMS are used to debating and talking in pairs, small groups and even participating in class debates. As a school we continue to encourage all students to listen politely and respectfully to others using the One Voice rule as well as being confident enough to talk and share their views with others.
