History – Enrichment Day

In history on enrichment day led by Mr Lyley and Mr Dowty, we developed our understanding of the Ku Klux Klan and racism in 1963 for black history month this October. To begin, we had an introductory lesson about the topic and moved on to watching a film all about the protests established by Martin Luther King and segregation between races.

It was a really fun day and we finished off by completing a research task on a social activist fighting for equal rights. My group did a project on Ruby Bridges who was the first female black woman to attend an all white school. Overall, the day was really exciting and very educational. Thank you Mr Lyley and Mr Dowty.
