I was fortunate enough to watch many of our students compete in a football tournament this weekend. Some were incredibly successful, winning their divisions with the dedication of a whole season of hard work and commitment, and others can be congratulated for never giving up and giving it their all, right through to the last minutes of the games, regardless of scores or chances to win. I was so glad to see how much everyone seemed to enjoy the day (including Rod Stewart!).
It did remind me of the many, many benefits of team sports for our students (https://www.therugbypaper.co.
Mr Searle spoke to many of the students about these advantages in an assembly recently. Team sports can improve self confidence, encourage fair play and respect, improve will power and perseverance and can help develop social skills, to name but a few benefits.
