Supporting the Elderly

I am sure you have all been touched by the news of the passing of Captain Sir Tom Moore. A courageous, amazing and interesting man whose legacy, amongst other things, is to remind us that there is so much more to the elderly generation than frailty.

With this in mind, I would like to remind you of the Pastoral Challenge, to email us a letter we can pass on to a local elderly resident. We would normally facilitate visits to age support homes but obviously this cannot happen at the moment. We would love to remind the residents that all of us at Bushey Meads still care.

It is also a fantastic chance for you to put on paper your own feelings about the Covid pandemic and how lockdown has affected you. I think you’ll find, the person reading your letter will understand and will be very interested to hear your thoughts and feelings.

In the meantime, please remember the pastoral team is here to help with anything you may be struggling with. Just get in touch and let us know. However small you may think it is, we are happy to help.
