Music Department Christmas CD

The music department would like to take the opportunity to say a massive well done to all the students this term. There has been a lot of disruption, but they have all coped so well and we have been able to carry on with our music making throughout the term.

This term saw the arrival of some of our new look schemes of learning. The students in KS3 were introduced to Stomp and learnt more about the musical elements. In the new year we will be looking at the Blues and we will hopefully be using the instruments more frequently.

Due to all the changes across the country this year we decided to create a bit of festive cheer by producing a Christmas CD instead of hosting our usual concert. We have managed to include almost every year group, some (socially distanced) ensembles and introduce some new performers to the Bushey Meads community. There were some students who worked really hard on their song but then were not able to be present for the recording, so we would like to say a huge well done to A. Apikian, M. Tregear, J Kijewski, L. Irimia, T. Prosser & A. Penso for their contributions.

In other news we have had some students successfully pass their instrumental exams. Please join us in saying congratulations to:

  • A. Pennie – Piano Grade 5 Pass
  • A. Jeyatharan – Piano Grade
  • B. Prosser – Singing Grade Distinction
  • G. Michaelson – Piano Grade 3 Pass
  • Y. Hingu – Guitar Grade 3 Distinction

Please enjoy the CD, stay safe with your families and relax over the break.
