The year 9 Tasters in Design Technology have been enjoyed by all so far! In Textiles students have been making Bow Ties. Students have learnt about printing techniques in the Industry and recorded what they have learnt in their Taster booklet. Using Canva (CAD) they then go on to produce a repeat pattern which is printed onto heat transfer paper and using sublimation printing, transferred onto fabric. Students learn how to use a paper pattern to cut out their fabric pieces. Following a step by step guide the students stitch their bowtie together using the sewing machine.
Well done Year 9, a great start to the term so far and a pleasure to be working with such engaged students.
