I was greeted with a lovely email on Monday morning.

Natalia, who left BMS in 2022   for university, got in touch with me to let me know about her job this summer.  This is what she had to say.

Hi Mrs Mateides,

I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to share with you that I did get a job offer for the organization I applied for. They offered me the role of Welfare director at one of their summer camps and they let me know that one of the critical factors in them making that decision was my experience as an anti-bullying ambassador. Therefore, I wanted to express my gratitude for everything you did for me during my time in Bushey Meads, I would not be in this position without your help.

Many thanks,

Natalia had been an anti-bullying ambassador during her time at BMS, helping at all our fundraisers, attending meetings and representing the school when guest speakers were invited to BMS.

It reminds us how important all the small roles our students take on in school and how much they can impact their futures, in ways they may not even be expecting.

Last week our anti-bullying ambassadors spent their CDC time going to all CDC groups to distribute information on bullying, particularly Cyberbullying. Well done to all our anti-bullying ambassadors who strive to highlight the importance of having the confidence to talk about unkind behaviour so that it can be resolved in a positive supporting way.
