Year 7 Library Studies explore the magic of...

Last Tuesday, I was privileged to take 60 Year 7 students to the Warner Bros Studios for the day in acknowledgement of their sustained efforts in library studies throughout the year.  Students are selected on the basis of rewards earned since September purely for library studies, awarded for participation and enthusiasm in lessons and for the tasks they complete after finishing their books, even bonus points for completing their Bronze Reading Awards.

As usual, the tour left everyone excited, devoid of phone storage for their photos.  Even those who had visited previously were pleased to see the new exhibits including the greenhouse where they could pull up a mandrake to make it squeal.  It was lovely to hear students discussing how different parts of the movie were filmed – either on one of the sets, or by using scale models or locations.

Our students were a credit to themselves and to Bushey Meads – one member of staff from the studios told me they had been the best behaved school of the day!  Well done and thanks also to the other staff who accompanied us.
