Year 7 Face Ordeal by Baked Beans

7fHi.1 are studying different types of community in medieval times in their History lessons. One community was the “tithing” which was responsible for bringing its members to justice. If the court couldn’t decide whether an individual was innocent or guilty they had to undergo an “ordeal” believing God would reveal the answer. Rather than creating all the wrong kind of headlines through using a genuine medieval ordeal, students from 7fHi.1 chanced their fate on “ordeal by baked beans”. There was no shortage of volunteers as students fancied their chances of walking across the “stepping stones” in bare feet and blindfolded without stepping on the baked beans. However, only Archie failed the test and was shown to be guilty. He is now waiting to hear what his punishment is! Great fun and a lesson to remember.
