Earlier this term many of our more able year 10s took part in the UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge 2024, an annual, national competition open to all qualifying year groups. Bushey Meads has a strong history of promoting this competition to our pupils and the maths faculty frequently embeds questions from past papers into the lessons as extension activities and as a way of acclimatising the pupils to the structure and expectations of the format. We encourage participation in the event, and in particular, the experience of taking part.
We would like to pass on a huge congratulations to all those who took part and applaud them for exhibiting a growth mind set, a quality we support and aim to develop in all our pupils.
Jamie Rosenblatt, Lisa Qarib and Luxman Aravindan all achieved Gold certificates, with Jamie gaining the distinction of Best in School. Jamie and Lisa automatically qualify for the Pink Kangaroo challenge, the next round.
Lucas Griffin, Armaan Samnani and Maanav Shah received Silver certificates. Nathaniel Ashford and Kush Patel received Bronze certificates, with Joseph Gill and Cayley-Anne
Noonan receiving Certificates of Participation. Well done one and all.
The next round takes place on the 21 st March. Best of luck to all those in this endeavour.
