Watford FC Inspires Event

As we reached the end of the Year 9 Watford Inspires Programme, it was great for a number of students to visit Vicarage Road, the home of Watford FC for the final event this week.

A key message for the day was ” We are all amazing” and students took part in a number of workshops including one on “Telling their story”,  where they discussed challenges they had faced and had overcome, how they had learnt from setbacks and that you should always celebrate successes.
It was also amazing to see all of the students participate in a lively debate, passionately arguing their point whilst being respectful of others opinions.
The day was rounded off with a behind the scenes tour of the football stadium including the Directors box and Elton John’s VIP seat, to the changing rooms and dugout. We were very fortunate that two current Watford FC players were at the stadium and made time for signing autographs and pictures with everyone.
Overall a truly inspiring day and I know all of the students left the event with memories they will cherish.
