Year 8 students have been developing and using their resistant materials skills to make money boxes. They investigated existing products and as part of the project, they learned how to work safely with saws, chisels as well as using 2D design skills. The boxes were made were with a variety of finishes including paint and decoupage.
Gaby said” When I was making the box I liked seeing it all come together because it showed I’d completed it in the couple of weeks that we had. Learning how to be safe and how to use the equipment was interesting. I struggled cutting the wood because sometimes I couldn’t cut it straight but I did figure it out in the end”
CJ said “I enjoyed painting the money box and cutting the wood,I also enjoyed creating my money box as it was very fun.
I learnt how to use a saw and cut wood in a straight line and how not to break apart the wood!”
I hope that lots of money gets saved in these moneyboxes.
