The Great Big Dance Off 2024
On Tuesday 6th February, over 40 Bushey Meads students travelled to The Grove Theatre in Hayes to take part in the regional heats of The Great Big Dance Off 2024. Here we entered two teams; one for Key Stage 3 and another for Key Stage 4/5, with choreography created during Dance Company sessions with Miss Barker-Dunmill, Miss Joannou and Mrs Bragoli.
This is an event that we have previously visited before but this year we took many students for the first time and sadly our Year 13s for their final time. It was exciting for them to see the performances of a variety of London based secondary schools in a variety of styles. The students were really supportive of one another, as well as their competitors.
Our dancers performed extremely well and the audience clearly enjoyed both pieces accompanied by a huge applause. The KS3 team placed 6th out of 15 entries and KS4/5 placing 9th out of 21. A huge accomplishment for all students who took part. We are looking forward to attending again!
