Students from the RE and History departments recently took part in a memorable joint trip to Bushey United Synagogue, where they experienced an extraordinary theatrical performance by the nationally acclaimed company Voices of the Holocaust.
The company presented their award-winning play Kindness, a powerful one-hour production that tells the remarkable life story of Susan Pollack OBE. Now aged 95, her experiences during the Holocaust were brought vividly to life through moving performances by professional actors. The production highlighted not only the horrors she endured but also the resilience, humanity, and compassion that define her story.
Following the performance, students had the invaluable opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session with the cast. This interactive discussion allowed them to ask thoughtful questions, deepen their understanding of the historical context, and reflect on the emotional impact of the play.
The trip provided a meaningful and engaging way for students to connect their classroom learning with real-world stories, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
We extend our thanks to both the theatre company and the Bushey United Synagogue for hosting us with kindness and being so welcoming.
